Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forum, if it has then apologies all round, this was posted on Veloriders the other day, and was passed onto me by an one of his former Welwyn Wheelers Clubmates, a tragic waste at only 21.
Condolences to his family'
It is with great regret that I have to inform fellow Veloriders that Peter Bissell sadly died on Saturday night.
Peter suffered a choking fit whilst out with friends, failing to recover and died as a result.
Peter was a regular contributor on VR and I'm sure many will be shocked and saddened by this tragic news.
Peter was due to return to France for his third season and was joining the Hennebont team for 2008 and was looking to a step up in category. 2006 saw him rewarded with Dave Raynor funding and this support had been extended to the 2008 season.
Peter will be remembered for his sense of fun, will to win and dogged determination. This determination saw him to his finest victory in the 2006 National Espoirs Road Race Championships.
Peter also won many Juvenile and Junior titles and awards during his young and all too short cycling career and was awarded for his efforts with the Chris Boardman Trophy in 2005.
Most recently whilst in the UK Peter has raced for the Arctic Shorter Rochford Racing Team and he will be sadly missed by his many friends and team-mates there.

I'd just read it on www.cyclingnews.com. I don't follow UK racing so can't claim to know much about Peter Bissell but it's always sad and shocking news when a young person, especially a fit and healthy athlete, dies at such a young age.
My thoughts are with his family and friends at this terrible time for them.0 -
It's awful news. I brought a frame off him a couple of years back and followed his career with interest. A talented and very personable young man, and I can only echo my thoughts for his family and friends.0

That was very sad news to read about this poor chap. It makes me so sad to see a young life cut short like this and again reminds of the fragility of it all .0

Can't claim to have known him, but certainly know his name very well from racing on and off at Welwyn track over the past few years. Awful news and a terrible loss of such a young talent. My thoughts are with his family who are all actively involved in the sport at various levels.
