flipping stems

If i flip the stem on my giant scr will the bars be higher or lower?

    it depends on how they come out of the factory........

    Have a look and see which way the stem angles out at the moment, and then just visualise what would happen when you flip it.

    Usually from the factory, I think they tend to spec them with an upwards or level height, so usually flipping will put the bars lower.

    It will depend on whether the stem is currently in the upright or horizontal mode. Normally, a bike will have been supplied with the stem in the horizontal position. But, a bike shop may have flipped it already to provide a more relaxed riding position. It is a simple job to flip the stem - give it a try and see what effect it has.
