rear mech setup

doing my head in constantly.....
i have 9 speed ampag xenon rear mech and for the life of me cannot get the settings right,always seem to have a little grinding on some cogs and not the others
can someone please assist from scratch to get the correct setup,lbs charge a tenner to set gearing but although i like the guys it would be nice to do this little thing myself

are you sure the grinding is coming from the rear mech?
what gears is it grinding in... the extreme small/small large/large etc?
one mistake I always make when adjusting the rear mech is that I put too much tension on the barrell adjuster on the mech.
have a look at this and see if it helps.

seems on the 3rd/4th cog to grind a little...maybe chain rubbing on next cassette cog....just sounds a little rough0

I notice that the guy in the video screws the cable adjuster screw all the way in before connecting the cable. I seem to remember that Park recommends unscrewing the adjuster two and a half turns before attaching the cable. This would provide adjustment in both directions.0
