Is the specialized p3 an ok frame for XC ?

Sorry, this may be a silly question but in what way is it too small and why is this a problem?

the frame is about 14" with a short top tube which results in needing a long seat post this will cause poor posture and a whole list of problems.

It is specced with DJ components which are heavy for xc, add that to a poor riding position for xc (sitting on the saddle with your feet on the pedals on the downstroke your leg should be nearly completely extended), you'd be much better off going for a Carrera Fury, Specialized Hardrock type of thing depending on your budget.

I did the forest of dean XC on my DMR rhythm once and then went and did the DH on it too if its a one off ride have a go but i really wouldn't use it for constant XC use

It's a 15" frame . It is just the frame which I'm looking at but thanks for the advice I'll keep looking.

if your quite smalle, you could probably get away with it?

I am 165cm , 5'4" tall.

You could probably put a light build on it and use it for a thrash around some trails, but it wouldn't be an ideal XC bike.
