Play in rim

Hello
I've Mavic Aksiums, and if i grab hold of the rim I can wiggle the wheel a couple of mill side to side - enough for the rim to touch the brake pads. Its the same front and rear; there's no clicking, so no feel that the bearings are knackered.
AFAIK the aksiums have cartridge bearings, so I'm not clear if there's anything adjustable here - so, questions are - is a little play normal? and if not, any ideas how you go about adjusting wheels with cartridge bearings?
Cheers

So can I on my Aksiums, and on my Ventos and on the hanbuilts I have. Rims will always have a degree of lateral flex, it is nothing to worry about.0

cool - thanks. My mtb rims dont have any play whatsoever, but i guess thats because they're forged from iron...0
