hi all.
am upgrading my disc brakes soon form my Tektro's to some Avid J3's. however, my bike came with an integrated brake/shifter combo, so since im getting hydraulics i need new shifters.
i have Shimano Acera 8sp gearing, and was wondering whether some SRAM X.5 8sp triggers would do the trick; http://chainreactioncycles.com/Models.a ... elID=22765
any advice appreciated.
cheers

No, these are the ones for Shimano mechs http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13206"Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0

Yep - if you're pulling a Shimano mech you need the "2:1 actuation ratio" which is available from some SRAM models. But most SRAM is "1:1 actuation ratio" designed for pulling their mech.
I once wrongly replace an SRAM mech with Shimano and it just don't work. (It was actually the bike shop's fault but they were fine about it so no harm done.)
