On mine, you had to get the sensor REALLY REALLY close to the magnet-much closed than the Sigma I used before- and if you can fit a stronger magnet, so much the better...
    Fitter....healthier....more productive.....
  • thanks for help but i have tried to angle magnet nearer,is the magnet inside plastic coating

Make sure you have all the settings correct and that you have the speed displayed on the computer this can be done by pressing the right button several times on the computer.

It can take over 30 seconds to give out a reading too, it takes time to get used to all the functions on the CS200 so have a good read of the manual and play about with.
  • cheers ill try 8)

I've just bought one as well and have had the same problems. I tried moving the speed sensor nearer to the magnet but that didn't work. I ended up moving the sensor as far up the forks as possible which seems to have done the trick.
  • how far did you move it up next to the brake pad also are you on the same side as the moniter

The other poster is right, you have to have the magnet nearly touching the sensor, the only way I got this to work was to have the sensor mounted as close to the top of the fork as I could get pretty much next to the brake block.

The way I got mine to work was to make the magnet touch the sensor and the slide a zip tie in between them to push them back apart again. Seemed to work OK and get the gap about right.

Also the range of the wireless isnt great so the shorter the distance between the computer itself and the wheel sensor the better.
  • I have just been through the set-up process for the cad 200 version - double the trouble as also had to set up the cadence sensor. Check that you get the wheel circumference loaded in first - as mine didnt start reading the magnet until i had that setting loaded. Mine is positioned just below the brake blocks - sensor doesnt look right because it is angled right in to be as close to the magnet as possible but that is the only way to get it to work.

Anyone got any general feedback on these? Was thinking about getting one but the reviews on the web are shocking!

    On the CS200CAD ?

If so, then yep. I've had mine nearly a year, I had two niggles.

    1. I had to fiddle with wheel sensor to get the speed to work, but that was a minor niggle.
    2. If you moisten the chest strap enough you get very erratic readings for your hearrate. Again a small niggle.

Apart from those, which were down to me rather than the unit itself. Its been flawless, its been used through all types of weather and hasnt given me one problem at all. I've dropped it, its had a soaking when out in the rain, and it still works fine. Its eay to flick through the functions when out riding and I find the HRM functions useful when I'm on the turbo trainer. I like the zip tie mountings and its easy to swap it between bikes.

Quaity piece of kit can't fault it IMHO.

    Hope thats useful.

As has been said before get the sensor as far up the forks as possible with the head unit on the same side. I wanted to put the head unit on my handle bar extension but couldn’t get it to work there at all.
I haven’t put the magnet as close as some people have said but have still had to angle the sensor in.
    Hope that helps.
  • thanks for all replys moved sensor all the way up just before brake pad and started to get a reading
  • Also make sure you measure the circumference of your wheel - the figures polar give in the set-up guide are wrong, approx 2% out. Makes a difference to your distance and speed values.
