Rear Cable Bolt Broken Off - can it be fixed?

Folks

Ive got a 9sp ultegra rear mech on my winter bike. I was leaving for my boxing day ride yesterday when I noticed the chain was stuck on the small sprocket, because I had obviously either knocked, or overtightend the cable bolt which had broken right off :(

I scrambled around and found the end of the bolt, the washery thing that grips the cable, took the mech off and have given it some tlc. I have glued the bolt back together with araldite and the bond seems pretty good.

Before I go to the pain of sourcing a replacement bolt, do you think a glued bolt is going to be reliable or am i just kidding myself?

any views?

The bolt is captive and passes through the rear mech body and is secured with the nut - check the Shimano website but they should be available as a spare.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
