I'm thinking of changing my stumpjumper fsr frame for a hardtail. Initail thoughts so far is the Pace 305 or the Whyte 905. I've seen plenty of reviews for the Pace and it looks like a great frame but has anyone got any feedback about the Whyte frame?

Cheers

Also have a look at the On One 456 Inbred, very good bit of kit, steel frame, 4,5 or 6" travel.

Also consider Cotic! Any of these are going to be great, as always get out and test ride them to see which one suist you the most.

It depends what you mean by long travel. Bikes like the Orange Crush, Maxlight Pha5e, SC Chameleon and Cove Stiffee work well with 140/150mm forks. If you want proper long travel, you're into Sub-Zeros and the like.

I was looking for an XC-oriented long-travel hardtail earlier this year and plumped for a Cove Handjob, which I'm very pleased with so far.

Going from FS to HT, you might appreciate the extra comfort of a steel frame over the alu options you mentioned?
  • I'd never heard of cotic before but after a quick online search it sounds perfect for me, every review on the bikemagic site gives it 100%. Also coming from a full sus the steel frame should be more comfortable.
    Thanks for the advise guys
