I've just put V12 pedals on my Kona Dawg, i'm finding now that my Merrel chameleon shoes dont seem to grip very well. I assume a more skate oriented shoe would be better? Any one have any advice on specific shoes? Mainly xc and light freeriding use.

5.10's? Had thought about vans too, a leather upper would be good for winter riding as well.2009 LaPierre Spicy 316

I'd reccomend against 661 shoes, every pair I've seen my friends buy has fallen apart really quickly and some of them the sole has some weired bubble on the bottom where you'd think SPD cleats would go but there's no cleat plate!
Vans are the way as far as I'm concerned. Look for the ones with the waffle sole!Rule 64:
Cornering confidence generally increases with time and experience. This pattern continues until it falls sharply and suddenly.

5.10s are excellent, Especially now they have a leather upper! My suede ones take up too much water.0

get the 5.10's they're so grippy you could climb up a cliff face in them, err probably.0

I've been wearing vans for long time, and now for the bike, they make their job prop, as you get good grip and also look cool.Give a smile, is free!!!0

Can you get 5.1's in a light XC version?
Ive got some vans but they are so bulky I normally wear some Nike running trainers with sealskins waterproofs. I'm trying to find some grippy lightweighters.
Up to now considering Hally Hanson Jaegers0 -

They'll probably be ok.
Don't forget, there's nothing to stop you fitting long pins in your V12s too.
CRC sell those too and I use them in my flats which can take themDave S0 -
