Creatine is used by bodybuilders for an extra 8-14% extra muscle strength...

You wont be considerd a cheat for using creatine. However it will not be much use unless you are a sprint athelete. It will have very little to no effect on an endurance race such as a mountainbike race.0
-
In fact studies show it won't be much use to anyone at all.0
-
If you did it here, you would be rounded up by angry villagers and burnt at the stake!
It is actually illegal to use it in French pro rugby as is the sale of various forms of it (although quite evidently not on teh internets) You can't even buy a can of Redbull...
Why would you want to increase your body mass for bike racing anyway?0 -
4X, dh etc where you need a lot of power.0

As I stated:

Yep, DH racing, 4X racing. You didn't specify xc/road racing. Edit: You take two folk, one small build and one larger build (muscle not fat) both the same skill on a bike and the larger built person will be faster as they will have more power.0

Schmako, I underlined body mass for a good reason.
Loading up on creatine does not make you more powerful, however it does make you gain weight due to the fluid retention that this causes.0 -
if it doenst build up strength, then wahts it for?I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

-Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine does two main things for performance athletes It super-hydrates muscle cells, and it boost the production of ATP (which drives athlete's performance.)
