XT 770 rear mech vs XTR 970 rear mech

Whats the difference? Is the XTR only a little lighter or are there some strength differences?

    There are no declared strength differences. The XTR uses higher spec materials to achieve a lighter weight and a level of exclusivity. If it would bring you pleasure to own XTR and you can afford it, go for it. If you want something that performs flawlessly but doesn't break your heart when you scrape it off a rock, get XT.

    cool, thanks. I was gonna get the XTR b4 cos I thought was stronger, however now I can save a bit of money :-)

    Blurgh... avoid the Shadow XTR mech though. I'm sure it works well... but it's hideous!
