fox brain fade

I've an 07 fox brain fade rear shock on a specialized epic 07 and I think it's broken. But I'm not sure so would be grateful for advice.
By broken, I mean it seems to be behaving like a normal shock; so if I push down on the saddle without any bouncing, I can depress the shock (not all the way, but it feels as if it would go all the way if I had the leverage to push down harder). I thought the shock was
only meant to open if it received an input from below.
If I turn the firm/soft dial, the behaviour is the same, it's just harder or easier to depress the shock.
Also, when I set the pressure, oil comes out of the valve.
I've checked the pressure and set the sag.
Anyone have any experience with these shocks?

Don’t know if this will help.
The video gives an in depth and detailed set up of your suspension, a friend of mine thought the brain was not working on his Stumpy but after watching this video he has it set up correctly and working as designed.

Thanks, however, this video is for the enduro and doesn't have the brain fade shock. Also, as mentioned I have set the sag which is what the video is about doing.

Omegas, sorry, when I first looked at the page I didn't realise that you could scroll down for other video options. You are right the epic is there, but it's the 2008 model!0
