25mm tyres and standard (not xl) Race Blades?

Bless her, my mother has accidentally ordered the 18-23mm size SKS Race Blades as a birthday pressie, rather than the XL set. I currently run a 25mm rear, so I asked for the larger set, to be sure they had clearance...

Has anyone used 25mm tyres with the standard size and found they had enough clearance?

The standard size is fine with 25mm. I ran on the same setup last winter on an Allez - no problems with clearance. I think your mum has done you a favour - the XL's would look a bit clumpy.

    Wot he said
Wifey has the thin race blades on her roadie - Will take 25C width no problem (although the bike won't).
Wasn't able to get the front blade on the bike though, as the toe overlap was pretty drastic already.

Agree the larger blades look more like wind-brakes.

My last set of tyres for winter were 25s and were fine with my standard RaceBlades.

Running 25c tyres as well. No problems with standard race blades.
