repairing a tyre?

some scrot stabbed my tyre, new holy rollers the bstards :evil: got a nice tear in the side which the tube bulges through. fixed with gaffa tape but doesn't last long. any tips? or new tyre :(

    You can temporarily repair tyres with a tyre boot - either using the PArk tools "proper" one of just some toothpaste tubing or similar. I've seen smeone ride all day in the lakes with a trye repaired this way without any problems but it will always be a weak point....

    Not exactly an answer to your problem but could be of interest to others.
    Used to be that if riders got a tire cut that didn't penetrate to the chords, they
    put Super Glue on the nick for reasons not quite clear to myself. Said it made
    the tire last longer.
