Hi,
I've recently treated myself to a Scott Spark 30 which I am over the moon with. One slight problem though is when I went to put it on my car rack (Saris Bones RS ratchet) I found that the bar needs to pass through the frame exactly where the rear shock is located.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a way round it? It might be fine but it looks like it would damage the bike, whereas my hardtail slots on fine.
Thanks for any help

i've got a specialized big hit and i'm suprised, it has fit on all my mates bikes racks without a hitch. i thought it would be quite hard as it has an interupted seat tube and because of the shock, i think you have just had some bad luck there mate.Best quote ever (pinkbike): "i've heard that Hill pees, deffecates, vomits and masturbates before each race to keep the weight down"0

i had the same problem, bought a saris bones 3 bike rack to carry my santa cruz heckler but it wouldn't fit due to the shock mount. Had to return it and carry the bike in the boot until find a better fitting rack or decide to go with a roof mounted option, am thinking about a Thule ClipOn High 9105/6 which supports the bikes in wheel track and has a single clamp on the top tube, being a high mount rack it doesn't obscure the lights but it will only carry 2 bikes0

£15 replacement top tube from Halfords, sorted.
I have a Stumpy and the saris bones is the only rack that fits on my RX8.
It fits between the underside of the seat and the handlebars, see below
