What Helmet? (specialized 2d for xc)

Hi I'm thinking of getting a specialized 2D helmet but it seems a bit of a roadie. I do xc singletrack really and wondered whether this was a good choice. Any other reccomendations are welcome i dont really have a price range but no more than around £110

Also saw this on another forum.

"The 2D is gone forever. It will be replaced with new model (ie a new name). I also saw Jan as an estimate. "

Apparently the UK's safety test doesn't test the buckle (the reason for the US recall)... but surely it's the same helmet? Considered unsafe in the US but not UK. Probably best to wait for the new model or another option.

I use the Giro Xen and it is very good, comfortable and lightweight.
