Looking to purchase a bike computer which records HR as well as the usual bike functions. Like the look of the polar CS400 and the ability to upload ride data onto the computer for comparison and training purposes - has anyone any experience of this unit ?

Thks

Just got one. Love the multitude of data and ease of use. Seems great but its going to take some serious fiddling to get the best out of it!! Best bit is the Polar software which helps track your progress.

Will feedback more once its had some more use!

My experiences of 3 units is a bit of a "curates egg"

    Pros:
Download is dead easy, as is using the units controls
Polars after sales service is good (but Im in Spain FWIW)
Battery life is pretty good - see below
The head unit is tough - I threw mine through the rear winscreen of my car and it carried on working!
Not really sure what else there is which is better . HAC 4& 5 have pretty poor reputation, and Im still waiting to find a Cateye V3...

    Cons:
Both the head units broke, resulting in the battery life fading very quickly and in one case the modem/loadspeaker not shutting up, but were changed under warranty
Speed & Cadence sensors need to be really really really close to the magnets (changing the Polar Cadence Magnet for a rare earth one from EBay helped but still), and as high up towards the fork (not easy if youve got "Teardrop" spokes!)
Every time the frame gets knocked, lain against a bar, or tired they need to be readujsted
HRM Chest strap can be tight, but Im an ex rugby player with 42" chest so if you are Rasmussen no worries
Some of the download features have never worked on mine (but Ive never really tried to fix it!)
    Fitter....healthier....more productive.....
