Specialized recall 2D helmet (in the US only?)

This article states that Specialized have recalled the 2D. This appears to only be in the US, but I haven't been able to find anything on the Specialized website.
I've got one, so I'm obviously a bit concerned. This posting on Weight Weenies suggests that the US and EU versions are different - the US version is heavier. All very strange - the EU is given an inferior version because the testing standards are lower?

I'm expecting a 2D helmet for Christmas. (I know because I bought it!)
According to Weightweenies it seems that a helmet that is considered so unsafe in the US that you must stop using it immediately and requires a complete recall. Is perfectly acceptable in to sell in the UK. This seems unlikely and concerning in equal measure?
Any more info somebody? I think we need a definitive response from Specialzed about which helmets/countries the issue relates to.

I've emailed Specialized UK. Hopefully they will respond in a timely manner.
I will update here when I hear something back from them.0 -
Well, a prompt reply from Specialized:
Thanks for your e-mail. We have had a fair few calls this morning on this. It appears the US has had a recall on their helmets, we have not been made aware of any issues as ours are made elsewhere to confirm to the CE standards in the UK and Europe so none of our helmets are affected.
We are getting confirmation this afternoon from the US on what helmets are affected, but at the moment it is just US only helmets that are affected.0 -
