2005 Specialized epic

Hi guys.
I got the chance of a 2005 epic for £600 from my LBS, it was a part ex for a new bike.
Just wondering who has one and what do they think, is there anything i should look out for like known faults that kind of thing.
Oh and its for my GF for her birthday on friday, (honest!). I ride a 2007 trek top fuel 8, how will it compare to that ride wise not that i will be riding it much of course.
