Hi
Has anyone tried those waterproof tights that Endura make?
I'm looking for something for all day rides when I don't want to be wet for 8hrs but I don't want overtrousers flapping around either.
thanks

I bought a pair of these just after they launched about 12 months ago.
They're very good, however they now get a tad damp around the tops of the knees now - mostly due to the amount of use they get!
Not enough for me to call it wet, or for me to consider ditching riding in the rain.
Useful ankle zips, and useful reflectives.
I have to admit to being very economical with washing them - just to extend their life / my paranoia at them losing their waterproof coating/impregnation.
I think they're great - unless you're a perfectionist, you won't find any problem with them -I've ridden them in total torrential downpours where the rain was bouncing back off the road - without trouble.
If you're not sure, take a water-spray with you to the shop, and watch it bead off!
Wiggle's sizing chart was spot-on, and they're nice and stretchy.
No pockets though.0 -
I have a pair and they are very good - totally waterproof even in torrential rain. there are a couple of potential caveats however:
Depending on you build you may find them too restrictive. i bought the version without an insert to wear over my shorts but i find them too restrictive (i have reasonably chunky thighs). i now wear them over padded briefs which although not perfect is now tolerable.
You may find the too hot. If it's over 10 degrees celsius i find them very uncomfortable and wear my teflon coated endura windtex tights instead.
other than that they do exactly what they say on the tin and they're excellentpm0 -
I wasn't aware there was a version with an insert - I too have non insert variety with a Roubaix style fabric on the inside only - I'm a bit old fashioned though, and my summer shorts are non insert too - I can see how they may be a little too snug with an insert.
I agree with Mike's max. temperature advice too.0 -
I also have a pair, they are perfect except for the buckles on the shoulders irritate me. I dont know whether this is down to them being a touch to small for me or what, but on long rides I do notice it and have to unclip them.
If we are talking about different things then please ignore me.

I went for the tights rather than the bibs - which makes for more options with regard to riding in different temperatures - although it does mean I have to use my gore-tex jacket to stay dry up top.0
