Just want to check if the plum in the opening post here:

(Select the 'an outsiders view of the UK' thread)
is representative of opinion in New Zealand, or if as I suspect he would be howled at there as well.

Not representative but probably not howled at either.
Most would simply look at him, shrug and put it down to his being a classic "whingeing pom".
Clearly he is that. And an utter knob with it.
Be grateful for the fact that we have to live with him and you don't.

Gavin, we don't see eye to eye a lot of the time, but this bloke is a knob.
Can you do me one favour? Descibing those of us against the EU as being "borderline BNP" is unjust. I am happy to discuss my objections to the EU )objections held by a majority of the UK electorate), but it gets a git difficult when anyone who takes an anti-EU stand is immediately labelled a racist.
A bit like calling all Eurofanatics traitors. If I had a stalker, I would hug it and kiss it and call it George...or Dick

Whilst a rational person can clearly see that being anti-EU in no way precludes being 'anti-foreign' I would suggest the reverse is not true. Despite the BNP preaching 'a common North Atlantic indentity' I've yet to meet a pro-EU racist.0 -
The Kiwis had a joke in the '70s:
Q: How can you tell when a planeload of Poms has landed at Auckland airport?
A: The whining carries on after they switch the engines off.
Sounds like Mr Chant has never stopped since he landed. Good riddance.0 -

Upur atatement does you no justice. I could reply that I have yet to meet a pro-EU person who was not profoundly anti-democratic.
We won't have any referenda. The proles don't know what's good for them.
I could alao add that I have never met a paedophile, nor a money laun derer, who was anti-EU. They just love the free movement.
See where this is going? If I had a stalker, I would hug it and kiss it and call it George...or Dick
