Im closing in on my choice for a £1000max hardtail, ive been doin me homework and i reckon im now down to the final shortlist of 4 ... he says.

im just after some general feedback from you all, which one would you go for type thing.

Personally i think im plumping for the Evo8, however the BigSur looks a glorious machine, the RockRidge has had some awesome reviews, just as the Malt4 has, only prob with the Malt4 is that im not totally taken with the Rebas it comes with, but Shock are easily changed and the Malt 4 is considerably cheaper than the rest.

Out of the four bikes listed, which would you have and why???

.... and if your feeling adventurous, which wouldnt you have and why??

Cheers
I found it hard, its was hard to find, oh well whatever nevermind.

Why are you not sure about the Rebas? They are excellent forks. Personally I would choose the Malt 4, mainly because I could never afford the others for a number of years.

  • The Malt 4 is a great bike, Merlins quality and spec is beyond comparison in my opinion, the handbuilt wheels etc etc make such a difference, I have had two Merlins and now currently a Rock Lobster B52 and i would recommend them and Merlin in gerneral to anyone. All the positive reviews cannot be wrong.
  • Rebas are great forks.Dependable and good performance.I'`d go for the Malt 4.
