Best bike for under a grand?

Hi, my work has just entered the cycle to work scheme, which essentially means I've got a grand to spend on a new bike.
Am stuck at the moment between the Focus Cayo and the Planet X SL Pro (I know what a terrible position to be in!!).
I've always bought bikes before on how they feel on a test ride, but probably wouldn't be able to try either, especially the mail order Focus, this time.
Would really appreciate any opinions, especially any on the new Cayo, which I believe has changed it's frame a little this year.
Cheers!

Hi Physwesp. Try searching the forums. You'll find the topic overed a lot. Focus gets rave reviews in Cycling Plus mag and the Planet X IMO is a great bike too. Go with your gut instince. You'll be happier that way.Every winner has scars.0
