do you know what these brake are like any good and are they reliable.
are they easy to fit.
any help i be greatful

go on to merlin cycles and go on hayes brakes you can get hfx9 carbons front+rear for £104 i have them and they are amazing easy to fit as well.

I've got that ones, and there are good to stop you, but there are big in the levers, better if you get a short ones and better and powerfull.

Err, not quite correct - shorter levers give less leverage, therefore less powerful...

Hayes hydraulic brakes tend to be pretty "linear" in use - that is to say the action of them is pretty "on-off", there's little middle ground. That said, I prefer the slightly more solid feel at the lever over something like Avids, which have more modulation but can feel springy at the lever.

I've been using HFX-9s for nearly three years and I cannot fault them.

Hayes Nines are a stop dead disk brake until u can spread out on HOpe

I have these on my Slayer and am very happy with them. Although some people complain about them being very on/off I find they are very good, incredibly reliable, easy to service and pretty much bomb proof.

My mates got the mags on his patriot and they've never seen him wrong.

Have the HFX9 - they are on/off undoubtedly but I've had no probs with them at all. Good basic brakes that you can pick up for buttons now.
