  • I've got that ones, and there are good to stop you, but there are big in the levers, better if you get a short ones and better and powerfull.

Err, not quite correct - shorter levers give less leverage, therefore less powerful...

Hayes hydraulic brakes tend to be pretty "linear" in use - that is to say the action of them is pretty "on-off", there's little middle ground. That said, I prefer the slightly more solid feel at the lever over something like Avids, which have more modulation but can feel springy at the lever.

I've been using HFX-9s for nearly three years and I cannot fault them.

I have these on my Slayer and am very happy with them. Although some people complain about them being very on/off I find they are very good, incredibly reliable, easy to service and pretty much bomb proof.
Wow great ship man. Looks like a fish, flies like a fish, steers like a cow.

My mates got the mags on his patriot and they've never seen him wrong.
  • Have the HFX9 - they are on/off undoubtedly but I've had no probs with them at all. Good basic brakes that you can pick up for buttons now.
