Freehub swappage - Shimano to Campag
If I decide to go ahead with my purchase of a Wilier Izoard with Centaur, I'll also, very likely switch - at the cost of £50 or £60 quid - the freehub on my DT 1850's from Shimano to Campag, thus enabling me to run my bling wheels on the Wilier.
Has anyone done this or something similar. Is it relatively easy or something best carried out by the LBS.

I've got a DT250 disc hub(I think that's the model) on my winter bike. As standard it comes with a shimano freehub, but I wanted Cmpag gearing, so had the Campag freehub fitted. Very easy to swap overRecipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.0

For about £30 you can buy a Shimano fit cassette with Campag spacing - they are made by Ambrosio - try Surosa Cycles or Harry Rowland (who I know had some- I saw them in his workshop).0

can you go the other way, and get a Shimano cassette to fit a Campag hub?0

I think that you need one of the Marchisio(?) cassettes and they are £80-100. I can't find one as I have a pair of redundant Gipiemme wheels with a Campag 8 Speed freehub.0

back on top.
they say that the servicing is tool free, but the only fun bit could be swapping the bearing and the seals."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

what levers are you using ?
My winter trainer has 8 speed Sora STI and I put my wife's rear wheel on by mistake which has a mirage 8 spd cassette . They worked perfectly together !
Not sure if the same would be the case with 9 speed though0 -
I'm using either Ultegra or Dura Ace 10 speed. As I've got 14 back wheels which will fit I suppose I don't really need another!0

Thanks for the replies.
Think I might just get one of those Ambrosio cassettes as an interim solution then.
I guess I'll just have to make sure that the 10 speed cassette will fit the DT240 Shimano hub.
Now to find a Izoard to try.0
