I will be stopping in at Kielder and Glentress over the christmas period, what kind of tyres would you advise using there for the current conditions, I've the choice of Kenda nevegal or Panaracer Trail Rakers.

I'm just about to change my tyres across to the trailrakers (a mud tyre) as our local woods are becoming pretty muddy and gloopy in sections. Do I want to be changing back for my trip up North?

Cheers,

Tim

  • Have been on the Black out route & the red return routes at Glentress. They are purpose built trails & I haven't come across any particularly muddy sections - mainly hard, rocky trails.

Today was hard frost & icy in places even at lower levels on the red route - Over the last couple of weeks has only been icy higher up the hills.

    Does that help?
  • Loads of help, thanks, I'll leave the Nevegals on for now then.
