Hi mine arrived yesterday, the bike feels great straight out of the box no tweaking as of yet. Today was my first ride did about 40 mile. Didnt want to stop, but i think the on set of frost bite in my feet detered me. :?
It is my first "proper" road bike and it feels superb for the money a bargain i would say.0 -
Get over the ho hum styling and its as good as anything else mass produced from Giant or Trek to name but two, only at a much lower price. There are enough user reviews and mag reviews plastered over the net to help you decide.....0

The only negative may be the Planet X SL Pro Ultegra build. The trees lie about the wind...

I've got the 2007 model and am very pleased with it. I'll probably change the saddle at some point as it's a bit basic, having said that I'm starting to get used to it now
It seems to me that the 2008 model has an even better spec than the 2007Beer, the reason my ambitions have not become my achievements0 -
I don't know anyone who has the 07 version who has any complaints. Seems to be awesome value for money again this year.0

I've ridden an 07 and it was a nice rig. bit lardy compared to a real superbike but very very good for the cash. i prefer the brand and looks to the Planet X, and suspect more thought has gone into the frame design though I haven't ridden the P-X.
it would be nice if Focus did a frame only option on the cayo and the lighter high-end frame from the Izalco. I'd aldo like them to do an Izalco with Dura Ace and cheap disposable wheels.0 -
I have the 07 one and must say it is a great bike. Great frame and mavic aksiums do the job nicely. The only things that let it down are the finishing touches, however, these are more preferences than anything, e.g the saddle is dreadful so got a specialized toupe on order, and the bar tape looks good and fits in well but i find it very thin tbh so iv got some specialized bar phat tape on order as well. apart from that i cannot fault it, i imagine the 08 version is even better though!J-890

Wow, just noticed the Expert '08.
Mostly Dura-Ace for £1,400 or Chorus for £1,500.
I'm looking at a new bike for early next year and even at the £2,000 mark some were 105 equipped.
Centaur-equipped Izoard remains top of my (realistic) wishlist though.
Are there any dealers with Focus bikes or is it hit and miss and send it back if it doesn't fit?0 -
Lagavulin - the only UK dealer is wiggle who sell focus bikes online, hence the cheap prices. they look great bikes for the money but i guess you take your chances buying a bike from a vendor you cant go round and shout at if something goes wrong. they used to do a 30-day "try it out, return it if you dont like it" offer but i dont know if this is still offered:0

Annoyingly, they don't offer a compact option with the Chorus though.0 -
Cayo Pro '08 reviewed favourably on BikeRadar front page today.0
