How is having an iPod (which works brilliantly, there's no way you could argue that point)BigDutch wrote:I didn't get the iPhone because it was new or 'must have'. I got it for the fact it allows me to carry everything I need on a day-to-day basis in a portable electronic device. There was no other phone that allowed FULL internet access (no matter what you say, WAP & Mobile Internet is NOT the internet) and let me access all my email, send messages and make calls in one device. I had a Blackberry. It was good but not the same so when the iPhone came I grabbed it and love using it. No apologies from me for selecting the best equipment for what I wanted.
Yes....you did. If that was not the reason, you would have waited to get the 3g version. I personally have a Windows Mobile device which has 3g (read full internet), wifi, gives me push email (like a blackberry only a hell of a lot cheaper), allows me to make calls, send messages, listen to mp3's and watch video's all in one device, plus I can actually use the keyboard AND send a message to many recipients at the same time!!
Now I am not saying that my phone is perfect or anything, but to say that the iPhone was the only device to do all of that at the time is not true.
So your FULL internet access is really not as FULL and certainly not as FAST as mine.

CEE, do you know me? Before getting the iPhone I was using the Nokia N75 which was 3G etc etc etc. It was crap.
I don't need to do the instant message thing, I was fed up with the 3G network not offering the speed I wanted but it taking up all of my battery power. Where I'm based I'm covered by almost a city wide WiFi network (free of charge) which totally negates the 3G advantage anyway.
As for not being able to send messages to multiple users at once - this has been addressed and while it wasn't a major feature for me (contacting multiple people with the same message at once has always been for email as far as I was concerned). I agree, it should have been a feature that was included at launch but Apple admitted it was a feature people wanted and included it in the January update.
My iPhone is perfect for what I want it for and while phones like the Viewty from LG have launched that offer a simillar internet experience they were not out at the time the iPhone was.
As for the ipod reliability issue, if you'd read my earlier post you would have noticed I stated (quite clearly I might add) that any and all mass produced items stand a chance of having a fault. I didn't need to use my ipod as an external drive (I actually have an external drive to serve that purpose) so I fail to see what point you were making there. With something like the iPod (which shipped in excess of 22,000,000 units this last quarter) manufacturing faults are virtually unavoidable. I would be very interested if someone could find an example of a product produced in this quantity that doesn't have any faults!
Don't just assume you know who I am or why I buy a particular product.0 -

I've seen that one, it's bloody funny! They did a couple on Apple along those lines. Shame I can't find Mad TV in the UK.0
