Simple question- anyone running 130mm hubs in a 126 steel rear end??? Can they just be sprung that wide or should i be tracking down the relevant hub and cassette on ebay or wherever????

I ran one like that for years. Steel bike but others should work.

Yep, run a 130mm Campag hub in a 126mm late 1980's Raleigh 531c frame. I find it is easier to put the wheel in without the QR skewer in and thread it though once the wheel is in place.

You could get the frame cold set at a good bike shop or frame builder. Or you could just give it a bit of welly yourself. A steel frame will take it OK. Not too sure about ally ones though.

Thats ok, its a steel frame. Much better choice of 130mm hubs nowadays, and of course, of cassette ratios, than the old 6/7 speed freewheels!!!! Cheers folks!!!!

I'm doing exactly this at the moment, the frama has now pretty much cold set itself.

think about it......it's 2mm each side.

frame alignment could easily be out by this much anyway.
