Do you know of a good site wehere I can draw up a route and find out the distance etc...?

    Google Maps (http://maps.google.com) has a distance calculator function; I think you can also highlight the measured route and print/save it as a favourite.

    there are quite a few out there

    i like www.bikely.com and mapmyride becasue both allow you to set it so it automatically follows the road rather than having to click everywhere. maymyride seems to be slightly better at giving you the route profile but is slightly clunkier to use. also has the advantage of allowing you to download the course to a garmin edge direct with no messing overfile formats etc.

    route profiles aren't all that accurate on any of them however, not bad but can be out by 10% vs a GPS readout after the event,
