Hey guys!
Just bought a pair of forks from the u.s off ebay, does anyone know of additional charges from custom etc, has anyone bought anything from america?

    It depends whether customs decide to check the package, sometimes they don't.

    Assuming they do check and the value of the item has been filled out correctly, you can expect to pay 17.5% VAT plus a small customs charge and final the courier may also charge a fee for it too. Worst I've been stung for is £15 plus VAT, it's not nice!

    4,7% import tax. and then 17,5% on that total and then maybe a handling charge.

    Do you know if your seller has posted your goods yet? If not, ask them to mark the package as a Trade Sample. More chance of getting it in under the radar if you do...

    I bought some 29er forks via ebay from the 'states. No charges for me!! :D You may or may not- depends on if Mr Customs guy had his leg over the night before I guess?

    Of course, we'd never recommend fraud to attempt to dodge the tax... :lol:
