Frames

Hi,
I am in a major pickle! I need a new hardtail frame for aggressive xc (not going to race more play in the hills) as my current Kona one is a smidge too big for me. I have been waiting patiently for ages for a 16" inbred 456 but there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel! (Brant is not giving dates when they will turn up ) So this leaves me looking elsewhere! I have been looking at the Cove Handjob and the DMR switchback and Trailstar.
Cove- Slightly more than I want to pay but seems bombproof and a good frame
DMR - Hear their paint is crap but the frame is bombproof also.
What are peoples opinions of the above frames? I prefer real tales as opposed to magazine reviews!!!
Cheers

Cove.
DMR's still seem to be snapping."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sorry if you've already considered and discounted it, or if you only want steel, but the Maxlight Pha5e is a good agressive frame and a bit cheaper too."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0

Yeah, so is linear elastic fracture mechanics. Just ask DMR "Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
Doh should have mentioned I am running a 4" fork too!!!If I had a penny for every penny. Well there would be loads of pennies0

In that case you don't want a 456 or a Handjob IMO, as both are now adjusted for 130mm forks. Of course you can run shorter or longer (and the 456 is supposed to be run with anything from 4-6") but the handling alters accordingly.
A standard inbred or an 853 (extra special steel is extra special real) http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=22748"Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
The test on Bikeradar said they ran a 100mm fork with it??? I am confuzzledIf I had a penny for every penny. Well there would be loads of pennies0

Oops the cove http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... ndjob-9308
But again with the inbred the whole point of 456 was down to it taking 4"-6" forks is it not??If I had a penny for every penny. Well there would be loads of pennies0 -
so again the Cove. and yes it will take a longer fork but is good at 100mm"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
