which is better? shimano center lock disc brake or avid huicy 6 bolts disc brake? what are the pros and cons of mechanical as against hydaraulic brakes. happy holidays

6 bolt and centrelock is the way the disc rotor atatches to the hub: it doesnt effect the performance of the brake. Centrelock is probably easiest to use when fitting rotors.

As for mechanical vs hydro: plenty of topics already, have a search. In a nutshell, hydros are more efficient at transferring power, and are more expensive. As for ease of use and maintenance: people have varying reports. Mechanicals are simpler and if do go wrong, fairly easy to rectify in my experience.
