Some lucky sod on here went this weekend.

Who was it? And was it fabulous?

Were Portishead good and did they play anything new?

Other highlights?

No, the brilliant festival which took it's name from the Velvets tune.

I went, and it was excellent

Being in a butlins while listening to music was frankly bizarre

    Highlights for me:

Portishead, her voice is just faultless, amazing set
    OM
    Sunn O)))
    Aphex Twin
    Thurston Moore
    Oneida
    Crippled Black Phoenix
    The Heads
    Earth
    Boris
    GZA (from the Wu-Tang Clan)

Really well organised festival, great fun and I drank a lot of bad larger

Got back to London on Monday and went to the ATP Sunn O))) & Boris Present Altar, which was stunning and eyeball shakingly bassy too

    I'm bl00dy shattered now though

I've been to 2 of them - At Pontins @ Camber Sands. Always a brilliant time.

The new Portishead sounds interesting - There is a bit of it up on YouTube.

Did you catch Autolux at all?

Years ago when I went Earth cancelled at the last second so I saw Sunn 0))) twice.

I did as a matter of fact, I will be checking out more of them, I watched some of Malcolm Middleton (of Arab Strap fame) but he bored me quickly so checked them out and I'm glad I did , any recommendations?

Shazz, No brown note from Sunn, but a few people had a bit of a lie down. their show at the forum was much crisper and the bass was so much better, you could really feel the waves of noise hitting you.

I'll go check out the you tube stuff shortly, the newer stuff seemed a little more up tempo and they really enjoyed playing it too, I think they might hit the road at some point although Beth was very nervous up there (she sings with her eyes closed)
