Dry feet?

How do you keep your feet dry?

I've tried overshoes which don't work - sealskin socks don't work either - other than spending a small fortune on a new pair of boots, are there any other option I can try?

Thanks in advance!

Sealskinz work fine for me. The only time they have let me down was when I put my foot in a puddle (read lake!) that was deeper than the cuff of the sock, so water got in, but apart from that they work just fine (IMHO)

Think thats half the problem.... this time of year puddles are deeper than your socks! or your legs get so soaked, the water runs down them into your socks.

I'm not brave enough to duck tape the socks to me legs yet!
  • But the idea of the sealskinz is that they have a merino liner so they are warm even when pretty sodden. You could try waterproofs that are log enough to go over the tops of your socks to stop water dripping down into your socks.
  • Wetsuit boots?!

Good waterproof trousers and over boots kept my feet bone dry last year in quite insane conditions. Maybe yours aren't up to the job?

Sealskinz are great but let water in the top a bit - fine if the tops are covered.

Same here. They work superbly well in wet conditions until they are immersed in water (it can get in top as has already been noted).

You can get longer ones that aren't bike specific - they reach upto just under your knees - check out hiking type shops.

It's always worth spending a bit of money if you can. Get some Shimano MW02s (I think that's what they are) and some knee length Sealskin socks and you'll be lovely and warm and dry. It's often a false economy not to get decent kit.
