hi all. brought a dhx 5.0 last week, came to fit it and problems!
if you have a look at the bighit models, the bighit3 has a dhx 4.0 on it. i have the vanilla r so decided to upgrade to the dhx 5.0. i came to mounting it and the piggy back does not fit in the space, it rubs on the cage if you call it that. the bit where the shock mounts on to the rear of the fram. is the piggy back on the dhx 4.0 smaller than that of the dhx 5.0???
or can it just not fit and i can only have the dhx 4.0???

thanks

    pics.

but yes the piggyback is smaller as it does not have the big blue adjuster.

i will put pics up asap.
however it is not the blue bottom out dial which is the problem. its the diameter of the piggy back
but i take it that they are the same diameter to each other?

    also what year is it.

you may just have to useit the other way round.

the piggy backs are exactly the same.

my bike is a 2007 model. if you look on the specialized website hear then you can see that the dhx on the bighit3 fits with the pggy back facing downwards>

there is the link. but you can see on that picture that the dhx 4.0 fits upside down and if there he same size then t should fit the same. it does look like a very snug fit though.

there is a good chance that they have a different link or mounting position on the frame.

there are two different mounting holes
theres one higher than the other. higher one is steeper head angle the lower one is slack head angle. i am in the slack head angle one.

not the best of pics but you can see the size of the gap between the piggy back and the frame.
