Any difference between UST and Tubeless?

I'm looking to replace the tyres on my Bontrager Race Lite wheelset (currently Bulldogs) and looking at the fairly limited range of tyres out there (2.1 max). Are tubeless and UST the same thing?

UST = Universal System Tubeless=========================================
Dot 4 in the eye hurts. Trust me0 -
UST is Mavic's specific system of compatible tires and rims
there is no guarantee that other "tubeless" systems will fit properly and retain pressure when using a UST rim or UST tire
to get a 100% working system, use UST tires and UST rims together
you also have sealent based tubless systems such as "Stan's No Tubes" that can be retrofitted into conventional tires and rimscheck out my riding - www.robcole.co.uk Banshee Factory Team rider, Da Kine UK Team rider, www.freeborn.co.uk www.eshershore.com0 -
I thought UST was Unresolved Sexual Tension?
There are a halfway house tyre, marketed by Bontrager and Stans for example which are tubeless ready. What this means is that they have good solid beads for seating the tyre in the first place but they don't have an airtight layer in the carcass and so have to be used with sealant if run tubeless."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
Schwalbe have now got most of their tyres available in a UST format, in particular the racing ralph and nobby nic. I have been mountain biking for 18 years and have never ridden a better rear tyre than the racing ralph. It grips brilliantly in the wet and dry, has very low rolling resistance and is pretty light. The nobby nic also gets great write ups, although I have not ridden one. I probably look like a schwalbe sales person as i have just written this somewhere else in answer to another question.
You can get both of these from chain reaction
