Are the any major differences to make the 770 significantly better or does the cheaper 760 represent better value for money?

Thanks for your help.

Rings are the biggest technical change. The middle ring on the 760 doesn't last very long whereas the 770 has a composite ring with steel teeth for better life. The 770 is slightly lighter although not enough to recommend it over the difference in price alone.

Can the 770 rings be used on the 760?

As far as I know they are both 104/64 bcd cranks so there shouldn't be a problem.

What is the price difference between them? Reason being, there is only £15 difference at Merlin http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=categ ... egoryId=12 £95 vs £80 and at that I reckon the M770 is slightly better value.

Thats what I saw when I posted. I've now seen the 770 for £85 on Chainreactioncycles. But I can get a 760 that hasn't been used for £60 in a private sale. I doubt they'll be any 770 around 2nd hand at the moment.
