Another problem
A few days ago I posted about a seized freewheel. Took it back to decathlon yesterday and they replaced the freewheel and all the cogs. The Bike's 3 months old and has done 800 miles. It's a decathlon triban trail 3, and has Shimano Tourney bits.
I now have a problem. However I adjust the gears, it jumps if I pedal hard on the smallest cog. Also, don't know if this is related, but when freewheeling, the whole block of cogs at the back sort of "oscillates." Hard to describe, but I put a short video clip HERE Before I go in doing too much desk banging, I assume it shouldn't do this?
Any solutions to the jumping and the oscillating guys?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Hi Magibob,
I'd suggest that your chain has worn with the old cassette. Fit a new chain and I reckon everything will be ok.Perpetuating the myth that Lincolnshire is flat.0 -

Thanks for the reply I wondered about that. Would it have worn enough to make a difference after 3 months and 800 miles? Any thoughts on the oscillation?

BTW We were in skeggy, and My parents are in Metheringham, Where are you?0 -
Hi, again,
Chain could easily have worn in that time sufficient to allow it to skip, particularly if used in bad weather or if insufficient lube. I wouldn't let the oscillation bother you, I've had cassettes do this, but it doesn't seem to cause problems unless excessive. Yours doesn't seem to be bad.

It isn't the cassette that is oscillating, it is either the freehub body that has been incorrectly fitted or you have a bent wheel spindle.
I would take it back for sorting under warranty.0 -
It's looks like a bent axle/spindle to me. I'd go with SMOKIN JOE's advice.0

yeah new chain would fix it. as to the oscillation - doesnt look too bad to me - seems pretty normal ? but take it back if you want to.0
