I've got me a cyclescheme voucher, and I'm going to the shop tomorrow.
Should I get the Whyte E5 (06 model) with Mavericks, or the 07 Whyte 19 with Rockshox & FSA carbon crank???
What a dilemma!!
My riding will not be very bumpy, and I climb badly, so the hardtail is very attractive!
Help me out guys!!!
Thanks

Nice bike Dunker!
Is it still as clean!
You are right, when I went into the shop, I could only look at the 19. The E5 is probably a great bike too, but that 19 is fantastic. And I worried about the Mav;'s on the E5 - they don't seem very popular.
So I bought the 19, and it looks fantastic!.
The beauty is, when I rode it two weeks ago, it was £2500. Now it was £2100 (07 stock clearance), and bought via Cyclescheme for riding to work , it will cost me £1050, over 12 months. How could I not buy it!!
Got Ayups too , so I'm going to ride whenever I can!!
yippeeeeee0 -
thanks yep it's all clean but in need of a new middle chainring and new chain, i've got the parts just not had the time or really motivation to fit them as i can't stand wet weather, anything else i love, hot, cold, windy and night is great just not wet
i knew you'd get that one how could anyone resist it hehe that's like half price too good deal! just a shame the weather is so bad for you, unless you like it like this0 -
Sorry to hijack, but dunker how are those shimano xc pedals any good?
Been looking at the v12 but people say paint comes off within a couple of rides and easton flatboys are a bit heavy (i was told)
Thanks and sorry once again0 -
they've been good so far, i've done 1400+ miles on them about 50/50 road/xc with only little jumps and 99% dry riding, i'm not a mud fan yet. i just recently switched to the long pins and before they were good with my 5/10s but now they're alot grippier. i've not had to service/regrease them yet and i've got the tech docs for them and they look pretty simple to do, i'll prolly repack them with pedros syn grease next spring/summer unless they need attention before that. oh and they look like the've only ever done about 10 miles after a wipe
if i had to choose between these and say some v12 magnesiums with a bag of free spares for them hmmmm i'd prolly take the v12s but that's more to do with my personality really as i like trying things i hav'nt tried before, the v12 mags ar'nt painted are they?
but saying that i had years of bmx'ing in the eighties on one set of dx's that are prolly still intact somewhere even now and these new mx's are feeling just as solid.0
