cottered cranks. what BB?

Hi there!
Will cottered cranks fit on a normal modern square taper BB or does it require an older obscure type?

    Hi, you will need the old style axle and cups and bearings, bear in mind the axle comes in different lengths if you can still get them.

    Ok, thanks. that's a shame because I had seen a very nice set on ebay that would have been perfect for my fixie..
