HI erveryone, please can someone help??i'm thinking of buying a Kona Five-0,but can anybody tell me if this a good idea?I've got an old explosif, that being turned into a training bike,so want something to takes its place.I'm more of a single track rider than a cross country, with the occasional air time,so want something that can take a few knocks(should things go pear shaped whilst in flight)would like to know the weight of the Five-0 but don't seem to be able to find it anywhere, along with a review??i know it's an '08 bike so may be jumping the gun a little, but want to know before placing my order. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Got to admit I like the look of these myself, I'm considering it for a second (oh go on, third then ) toy next year. Kona don't give a weight in their spec and a quick google revealed no reviews as yet.
Given the nature of the beast and it's spec I'd say that you're probably looking at the thick end of 35lbs/16kg all-up weight. But then, frame, fork and brakes aside, it is pretty low-end kit so you can't really expect it to be lightweight.0 -
Cheers guys, has anyone got any other ideas,if i don't stick to kona?as i've not tried it i'm open to suggestions.0

Hey Space Cowboy,
Just bought a 5-0 myself (18").....check this link out.

The link takes you to another post similar to yours. Don't know if you've seen it already, if not, it might be worth checking out.
I bought mine for the same reasons as yourself, as I go to Llandegla a lot. The bike seems to be ideal.
Will definately upgrade certain components, but will wait till I've knackered them first.
Ps, Dave Hill's right, mine in std spec weighs just short of 16Kg
