Hi, Anyone out there used this company before, if so were they ok, are they a big setup ?

They have stock of some stuff that I need at a good price, but I have never dealt with them before and its a reasonable amount of moneys worth of gear. They are not to far away from me, so I emailed them and suggested I picked the stuff up, to which they told me I cant do, because they are not a shop they are mail order only ? This has made me a bit cautious as to whether all is as it seems. The guy who contacted me said I could collect the stuff from his house, but I queried whether they had an office I could collect from in normal office hours. So why would they say no ?

Cheers for any feedback

  • If they only have planning permission for Mail Order they could get in serious trouble for letting people call round. Wiggle won't accept personal callers and they're hardly a small set up!

Ah, so it could be something as simple as planning, I guess I am paranoid, I just assumed that there was a dodgy reason why they didnt want visitors, like they were working out of a garage or lockup or something
  • I bought a USE Joystick Maxx light from them about 2 months ago. Due to a major problem from suppliers it took about 3 - 4 weeks to arrive but that was USEs fault not shiny bikes. Guy I spoke to was very apologetic and helpful and ended up arranging for it to be sent directly from supplier. Was a bit dubious myself when had to wait so long but all ok in the end and as I say it was suppliers fault as tried to get one from loads of places.

I bought a compact chainset from them. I rang with a query before ordering on the net. The chap I spoke to, checked stock for me, then put one on one side as it was the last one, so didn't miss out before ordering.
They were extremely helpful, prompt and the price was good,
    Highly recommended!
  • The main UK distributors won't deal with mailorder only companys. I guess they get their stuff straight from the continent which would explain why there could be delays if any product is out of stock.

I ordered, from Shinybikes, and I have to say everything was spot on. Price is good, service was excellent, very confidence inspiring for a young company, So well pleased, and would recommend without hesitation. Also good to speak to someone who actually knows what he's on about and not just a sales person ready to sell you anything. I can see me using them a lot more in the future.
