S-Works SPD Shoes

Hi all, have decided to take the plunge and go SPD on my XC bike. I have been talking to a lot of people about this and they all say that once you change to SPD you will never go back to flats and I can see why, so is it worth me buying a decent set to begin with?
Looking around, so far the Specialized S-Works ones have stolen my heart, the fitting system seems like a very clever idea, but I just wondered if this really is a good idea, quite a large outlay (£170) for something that if it works for me, will be amazing, but if it doesn't, selling them on may be an issue (size 13 feet!). Am i better going with a cheaper set to begin with or should I go the hole hog and get a decent set to save upgrading later?
Any advice or experience with these shoes much appreciated!!
Thanks

I've got a pair and they're fantastic. Very comfy, light and beautiful fit. The close mechanism is very neat and I've had no problems with it at all, you just dial them up nice and snug and they stay that way. To take off when they're muddy you just touch the dial and slip them off without getting your hands dirty!
I thought similar to yourself that rather go for a really good pair of shoes now rather than upgrading later.
Only drawback (apart from the price) is you cant really walk in them any distance as the soles are completely stiff and reinforced with carbon.
You really need to try them on though as the sizing is on the small size. I'm normally 81/2 but had to go for the 9 size.0 -
PS....
Just seen them on the web for £119 http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=46300 -
