Probably should be in road gear but im a beginner, so here it is.
A friend cam to my house with his bike, a second hand trek 1200, it looked a few years old. It was fittled with old bull horn? shaped handlebars and had shimano rx100 gears. It had been used in time trials and it was rapid. What are these gears?
Are they the old ultegra equivalents?

It was a low end groupset below 105, I think the equivalent now would be either Tiagra or Sora.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

I have a mixture of rx100 and deore on my 15 year old touring bike - always been very reliable and never had any problems. I was under the impression that at the time they were consider quite high spec, but that might just have been sales talk :oops:We are born with the dead:

Oh well maybe the saleman was talking about the Deore parts, they seem to be ranked a bit higher. We are born with the dead:

Maybe, but remember that RSX was quite good, and that Shimano makes loads of groups below that. I usually reckon rx100 to be about the same as 105.0
