Hi All

I need a mountain bike bar mount for the Extrex Summit HC. Any suggestions ?

EDIT :
I see there is two options, normal or oversized... I have a Trek 4300...any idea what size I would need ?

Cheers

  • I've got an original etrex summit and the Garmin bike mount is a superb piece of kit. Why wouldn't you just buy one of those?

Like I said, it seems to come in two sizes, normal and oversized. Which one would fit my mountain bike (trek 4300) if that helps.

    Cheers

Hey, you only said that after I replied ;)

Then the only way is to measure.

My Trek 6500 is oversized in the middle but narrows towards the end. So I have oversized mounts for my lights, but normal ones for my GPS.

I didn't realise they did a bigger one  Just ordered one from UK Bike store (£9.50 inc postage).

Note that the standard size (up to an inch bar diameter) comes with a replacement battery compartment cover which has mouting points on it, the oversize mount (25mm to 38mm) doesn't seem to come with this.

However I know the extra battery cover doesn't work with the x series models so they come with an adaptor to convert their original battery cover.

What I'm trying to say is you may actually need to buy both the standard and oversize mounts if your bars are oversize (or you might not :? , you'll need to check).
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
