Hi to all! Im gonna be getting a bike soon, and ive got a budget of £250ish to spend, anyone any advice on what to go for? All advice is greatly appreciated!

I know where i can get a GT Avalanche 1.0 (non disc) for about £300, or a BeOne Aspire 2.0 for about the same price. Any thought on those two particular bikes?0

Yeah i can, guess i should just see which one feels more comfortable. The BeOne might be a bit cheaper, so that might sway things as well, as long as its a good bike.0

If this is your first bike and you're serious about it, steer clear of buying mail order. Far better to visit a shop and try the bikes out for size, maybe even wangle a quick test ride if you can.
Don't forget to budget for one or two extras to get you started - helmet, pump and puncture kit, and a pair of under-shorts are a good start.0
