If you have access in UK to Topeak multi tools, they are great, cheap and slim (they easily fit in a jersey pocket or a saddle bag)
Check for Topeak Mini18 since it has a chain splitter0 -

Thanks for the post.
I had looked at that one but I wasn't sure of its chain tool quality.

Why do you need a chain splitter?0

Crank Brothers makes a nice one.

I have both a Specialised and a Crank Bros tool (long story, i thought i had lost one so bought a replacement, then found the original). I have used the chain splitter on both "in anger", they are both fine to use.road0

The quality of Topeak tools is very high, they are accurately made and are hard wearing. I have the Topeak Alien, and the chain tool has been used a couple of times "in the field". The tools included can cope with almost all road or trailside repairs.0

I have a Topeak Alien 2, it has pretty much every tool you should need including a chain tool and a wire hook for holding the chain together while you're fixing it. It's not cheap but it has a real quality feel to it, the allen keys are very good too."Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein0

It sounds like the Topeak then.
I already have a multi-tool with a Allen keys and screwdrivers so I will probably go for the Mini 18+
Thanks for all the advice.
