Hawick - any local routes up to 2 hrs?

Will be up in the Border country for Christmas, and will probably be visiting Glentress/Castleton and Kielder.
I'll be staying at my mum's near Hawick and was wondering if any one knows of (or links to) any local routes of up to 2hrs for a quick blast?
I mainly ride single track on the moors and stuff at Guisborough woods as a guide to type of rides I'm looking for.
